THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Taking a stride towards implementing web-portal based education in schools, State Institute of Educational Technology has uploaded interactive multimedia lessons of SSLC textbooks online in science and mathematical subjects on a trial basis.The lessons can be accessed free from the site www.sietkerala.gov.in from April 16 onwards. The trial version is made available to get the feedback and response from teachers, students and educational experts regarding web-based study method and the interactive multimedia lessons developed by SIET.As of now, the lessons in mathematics, chemistry, physics and biology of standard 10 are included in the trial version, a release said.By clicking on the ‘learning’ menu on the site, the lessons can be accessed. Students can choose either Malayalam or English version. Each chapter in science subject is animated by adding text over screen and voice-over.To conduct self-assessment in study, at the end of every chapter, activities in game format are also included. There is also facility to take the print-out of the study material. The site is devised under the guidance of more than 100 experts including teachers and educational psychologists.The official inauguration of the site would be done by CM Oommen Chandy in June.Feedback and response can be sent to the mail id [email protected]
