Rae Bareli: Confident about her mother Congress President Sonia Gandhi's win in the Lok Sabha by polls in Rae Bareily, Priyanka Vadra today said victory was a forgone conclusion.

Priyanka, who was the poll agent for the Congress President, said her brother and Amethi’s MP, Rahul Gandhi had worked very hard during the campaign.

Asked about the margin of victory for Sonia Gandhi, Vadra said she would not be tricked into guessing a figure.

"Victory is a foregone conclusion," she said.

The Parliamentary bypolls in Rae Bareli, necessitated due to Gandhi's resignation in the wake of the office of profit issue, saw a low 43 per cent turnout.

In the 2004 General Elections an estimated 47.2 per cent voters excercised their franchise and Gandhi won by a considerable margin of votes.
