HYDERABAD: Telugu Desam activists and members of Praja Sanghala Joint Action Committee clashed with each other even as the opponents of Wednesday's Ranabheri programme tore the banners of the Telugu Desam and its chief N Chandrababu Naidu and made a bonfire of them in Karimanagar on Tuesday.Ever since the party announced the Karimnagar meet, there has been opposition to it from the Praja Sanghala JAC which wants it to be held without TDP banner or cancelled altogether. JAC activists even tore the flexis of the party and Naidu in Karimnagar on Tuesday and made a bonfire which led to a clash between TDP leaders and JAC activists.Only one TDP leader in Karimnagar is opposing Ranabheri. He is Muddasani Damodar Reddy who lost the election to Etela Rajender from Huzurabad in 2009. He did not support the TDP Forum's idea of holding the meeting with party flags and Chandrababu Naidu's flexis which he believes would further erode the party's base in the district. Damodar Reddy is angry with forum convener E Dayakar Rao for organising the meeting in his Karimnagar district rather than in Warangal As Damodar Reddy is likely to join Janardhan Reddy's bandwagon, Naidu tried to convince him on Monday but the former remained firm against use of party flags. Meanwhile, Telugu Desam is leaving no stone unturned to make Wednesday's Telangana Ranabheri in Karimnagar a success to send out a clear signal to people that it is the Telangana TDP Forum which is more committed to the Telangana cause and not Nagam Janardhan Reddy and his supporters. As the forum is intent on organising the public meeting displaying TDP flags and Chandrababu Naidu flexis, there is apprehension among party leaders in Karimnagar whether the meeting would become counter-productive since Naidu's two-eyed policy did not go down well with  people of Telangana region. The meeting is being organised immediately after the TDP Forum recommended to Naidu the suspension of Janardhan Reddy for promoting his personal interests at the cost of the party's. The forum has branded Nagam as a Jagan Mohan Reddy covert in the TDP. Naidu is yet to take a decision on the recommendation.Acting under party chief's directive, the TDP's four MLAs from the district Gangula Kamalakar, L Ramana, Suddala Devaiah and Ch Vijaya Ramana Rao are trying to mobilise more people for the meeting.
