HYDERABAD: Taking exception to Union minister S Jaipal Reddy’s remarks on separate Telangana on Saturday, pro-Telangana lawyers on Sunday tried to storm his residence at Jubilee Hills but were prevented by the police.Anticipating trouble by Telangana activists following the minister’s remarks, a huge posse of policemen were deployed at the minister’s residence as a precautionary measure.Around 15 members of Telangana Advocates Joint Action Committee (TAJAC) went to Jaipal’s residence to give a representation. “We want an apology and resignation from him,’’ TAJAC co-convenor T Sriranga Rao demanded. Sriranga Rao said Jaipal Reddy should make his stand clear on Telangana. The TAJAC threatened to disrupt the minister’s programmes.As the advocates tried to meet the minister, police bundled them into vehicles and shifted them to Jubilee Hills police station. 15 advocates were taken into preventive custody and were later let off.
