Biplab Sheikh, a resident of Karimpur in West Bengal’s Nadia, is garnering locals’ attention. He is a mason by profession, who has studied till Class 12. With mastery in nearly 11 different writing styles using both hands, he is in the spotlight. He resides in the Chandpur area under the Karimpur police station. He couldn’t afford to study further after the 12th grade due to financial constraints. Afterwards, he ventured into employment at odd jobs and moved around in various places outside the state. He has served as a mason and a joint worker in several places. Nevertheless, despite the day and night work of a mason and daily wages, his interest was always in ambidexterity writing. He has been constantly practising this since childhood. He writes with both hands, holding a pen on both the right and left hands.
Biplab Sheikh had to go out of state once due to work. At that time, he learned Hindi, Odia and other languages from local residents and his colleagues. His writings have gone viral on social media making him a local star. Biplab Sheikh is set apart by the fact that he can write in 11 different ways and in multiple languages. Biplab uses his smartphone to access the internet to know more about this art and to find out whether there are more people who are ambidextrous and if so, where they reside.
Biplab is interested in registering his name in the Guinness Book of World Records or the Limca Book of World Records through an online medium. Due to the lack of education, awareness and proper direction, he does not know where to register his name. For this reason, he has requested for cooperation. He says that if organisations that collect records support him, or if someone comes to him to offer him help, he will be very grateful.
