The Vasundhara Raje cabinet on Thursday resolved that the Rajasthan government would soon constitute the Fifth State Finance Commission for the Panchayati Raj and Local Bodies' welfare and their financial matters.
This decision was taken at the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, according to a CMO official.
As per the Cabinet decision, the Fifth State Finance Commission would be a five-member body headed by an expert on public issues as its Chairperson. Others members would include experts on financial matters.
Tenure of this commission would be from April 1, 2015 to March 31, 2020 and it would give its recommendations with regard to funding and other issues related to Panchayati Raj institutions and Local Bodies. Among other decisions taken at the meeting, it was decided to shorten the probation period of Assistant Professor and Senior Demonstrator in state medical colleges from two years to one year.
The cabinet also accepted the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports on Economy and State Finances and these reports would be tabled in the state Assembly during the forthcoming session. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajendra Rathore shared the information about the decisions taken in the meeting.
On the recommendation of the cabinet sub-committee, constituted to review the decisions of the previous government during the last six months, the state cabinet approved allotment of 2,000 square meters of land on the rate of 30 per cent of the reserved price to Terapanth Yuvak Parishad, Jaipur in residential or institutional scheme of the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA).
