In March, it was announced that Julia Roberts, an Academy Award-winning actress, is set to star in a new thriller film called After the Hunt. It is being directed by Luca Guadagnino and produced by Amazon MGM. As per a latest report by Deadline, Andrew Garfield is in discussions to star alongside Julia Roberts in a forthcoming film. Fans have been quite eager about the thriller since it was announced and the ensemble star cast is expected to add to the buzz.
The script for After The Hunt has been written by Nora Garrett. Brian Grazer and Allan Mandelbaum from Imagine Entertainment are producing the film in collaboration with Luca Guadagnino under the banner Frenesy. Karen Lunder from Imagine Entertainment will serve as an executive producer alongside Nora Garrett. Reportedly, the film’s production is scheduled to begin this summer. As per the Deadline report, Imagine Entertainment had acquired the script and began development on the film at the beginning of the year. Once Luca Guadagnino and Julia Roberts were roped in, Amazon secured the project. Moreover, the publication mentioned that, with Julia Roberts already on board, the casting of a talented actor like Andrew Garfeild was expected.
The plot revolves around a university professor, played by Julia Roberts, who finds herself in a difficult situation both personally and professionally after one of her students accuses a colleague of impropriety. As she struggles with this difficult circumstance, a dark piece of her past threatens to resurface. It adds to the complexity of her situation.
Andrew Garfield will next appear in A24 and Studio Canal’s We Live In Time, with Florence Pugh. He was last seen in FX’s Under the Banner of Heaven. Some of his notable previous works include Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Tick, Tick, Boom!, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Mel Gibson’s Hacksaw Ridge, Gia Coppola’s Mainstream, David Robert Mitchell’s Under the Silver Lake, Andy Serkis’ Breathe and many more. On the other hand, Julia Roberts recently starred in Netflix’s drama Leave the World Behind. She rose to prominence in the 1990s with memorable appearances in romantic comedies such as Pretty Woman, Notting Hill and My Best Friend’s Wedding.
Meanwhile, film director and producer Luca Guadagnino is well-known for his critically acclaimed work, Call Me by Your Name. He is also working on various additional projects. Along with After the Hunt, he is reportedly directing Separate Rooms, an adaptation of Pier Vittorio Tondelli’s novel.
