Days After Criticising Priyanka Chopra, Pak Actress Mehwish Hayat Poses with Nick Jonas at US Open

Last month, Priyanka Chopra was called a "hypocrite" by a Pakistani woman at a public event in Los Angeles for tweeting in favour of the Indian Army despite being a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador. Soon after, Pakistani actress Mehwish Hayat wrote an opinion piece in CNN, saying Priyanka "should not be using her voice to legitimize a regime opposed to the values she claims to represent."

Now, Mehwish ran into Priyanka's husband Nick Jonas at the the US Open Men's Semi Finals in New York. And it seems instead of trying to avoid an awkward encounter, the actress was happy to meet with the American singer.

Mehwish has shared a picture of herself with Nick on her Twitter handle. In the tweet, she even mentioned that the one thing the two agreed on was that they were both rooting for Nadal.

Mehwish is currently in the US taking a break from work to visit and spend time with her family. Hayat has been in the news lately for lashing out and urging Bollywood and Hollywood films to stop stereotyping her country and building a negative image of them through cinema.

A few days back, she even pointed out that the song Prada by The Doorbeen, featuring Alia Bhatt, was a copy of an old Pakistani song.

Nick Jonas, despite being busy with his Happiness Begins tour, took out time to attend the men's semi-final of the US Open. But unfortunately, the Sucker singer might not have had the chance to watch and celebrate Nadal's win as he was performing at Grand Rapids city in Michigan on Sunday.

Nevertheless, a celebration is around the corner for Nick Jonas whose birthday falls exactly a week from now on September 16. Nick will have a chance to celebrate with his fans as on that very day, the brothers will be performing in Saint Paul in Minnesota.
