Kannada actress Amrutha Naik needs no introduction. She came into the limelight after appearing in the 2017 Kannada-language romantic comedy film Ondu Motteya Kathe. But do you know what the actress is doing now?

According to the latest report, she is currently working in the Kannada language drama series, Amruthadhare. It airs on Zee Kannada and premiered on May 29, 2023. The show stars Chaya Singh and Rajesh Nataranga in the lead roles. Amrutha is seen in the role of Apeksha, the sister of actress Chhaya Singh.

The show also features Vanitha Vasu, Chitra Shenoy, Sihi Kahi Chandru, Sara Annaiah, and Shashi in other important roles. The show revolves around Goutham, a business tycoon, who gets into a marriage of convenience with Bhoomika, an educated middle-class woman almost a decade younger than him.

The show is an official remake of Sony’s Hindi series Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. Amruthadhare is also available on the Ott platform, ZEE5.

However, Amrutha gathered fame after appearing in Ondu Motteya Kathe. In the movie, he appeared in the role of E-Madam. The movie was written and directed by debutant Raj B. Shetty, who also appears in the lead role, along with Usha Bhandary, Shailashree, Prakash Tuminadu, Amrutha Naik, Shreya Anchan, Vj Vineeth, Rahul Amin, Deepak Rai Panaje, and Ramdas playing supporting roles.

The movie was released on July 7, 2017, to positive reviews. The Hindus called it the “Kannada film of the year.” The film won the Filmfare Award for Best Film—Kannada. The budget of the film was estimated to be 30 lakh INR, and the movie was a commercial success, collecting 2.5 crores.

The film was set around a bald Kannada teacher, Janardhana, who finds his love blossoming with the stout Sarala whom he met through a flopped pre-arranged marriage function. The soundtrack of the film was composed by Midhun Mukundan, with lyrics penned by Vishwajitj Rao, Raj B. Shetty, and Keerthan Bhandary. In 2019, the film was remade in Malayalam as Thamaasha and in Hindi as Ujda Chaman.
