Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday took a veiled jibe at the Gandhi family during a discussion on the three new criminal law bills in Lok Sabha saying, “You will never understand if your mind of Italy”.
“Under the leadership of PM Modi, I have come to bring some major changes to the 150-year-old three laws which governed our criminal justice system,” he said, adding, “Some people used to say that we should understand them. I tell them that if you keep your hearts open, and if your heart is Indian, then you will understand. But if your mind is of Italy, you will never understand.”
लेकिन अगर मन ही इटली… pic.twitter.com/SuR8DtVrug

During a public rally in Madhya Pradesh last month, Shah urged people to “press the BJP button (on the EVM) with so much force that the electric shock is felt in Italy”.
In another rally in Madhya Pradesh, Shah said a brother and sister duo, in a veiled swipe at Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, whose “origins are in Italy” won’t be able to understand the development done by the Narendra Modi government.
3 Criminal Bills Passed by Lok Sabha
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday introduced three new bills to replace the existing Indian Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure and Evidence Act. The three bills were later passed by the Lok Sabha.
Shah said the existing laws were made by foreign rulers to help maintain their supremacy. However, the new laws have been framed by keeping in mind the core values of the Constitution, individual freedom, human rights and equal treatment for all.
