After the Kiwis managed to get another win, maintaining their undefeated record, it is the New Zealand players that are currently dominating the charts for the top run-scorer and top wicket-takers.
The Kiwis managed to hold their spots at 1 and 2 after their dominant victory over Bangladesh. Mitchell Santner only managed to pick up one wicket in the game while his compatriot Matt Henry managed to level with the spinner in terms of the number of wickets. The Bangladeshi skipper, Shakib Al Hasan also finds himself in the fifth spot after picking one wicket in the second innings against New Zealand. Shoriful Islam managed to drop down to eighth as he was not able to get a wicket despite starting off the 2nd innings well with the new ball.
With the highly anticipated India vs Pakistan set to take place tomorrow, it will be interesting to see where the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Hasan Ali and Haris Rauf end up in the charts. Maybe someone else could find themselves breaking into the top 10 as well.
New Zealand’s Devon Conway finds himself at the top after scoring a decent knock of 45(59) against Bangladesh. Rachin Ravindra managed to drop down to fifth after being dismissed cheaply. South Africa’s Quinton de Kock will be in contention for the top spot after managing to score back-to-back tons in the two games South Africa has had in the World Cup. Kiwi batter, Daryl Mitchell managed to break into the top 10 after a valiant knock of 89(67) to give the New Zealand side their third victory in three games and send them to the top of the table.
Tomorrow’s India vs Paksitan game will be interesting to watch as many would be expecting the likes of Virat Kohli and Muhammed Rizwan to continue where they left off. One player who might be ready to deliver is Babar Azam who is too good to be inconsistent for so long. It could be likely that the star batter could make his way into the top 10 with a big knock against India. Shubman Gill who looks likely to return could also make his way if he is able to big against arch-rivals Pakistan.
