Moradabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing a Parivartan rally in Moradabad on Saturday hit out at black money hoarders and said those misusing the Jan Dhan accounts will be punished.
"Do not withdraw money deposited by blackmarketeers in Jan Dhan accounts. I will fix those who used to chant 'money, money' earlier," PM Modi said.
Supporting the use of e-banking, PM Modi urged people to make regular use of mobile phones in all future transactions. He thanked people for supporting the demonetisation drive and assured the public that their suffering will not go in vain.
Taking a dig at his opponents, PM Modi asked, “What can my opponents do to me? I am a fakir (hermit).I will exit with my little belongings.”
Reflecting on the problems faced by the common man in procuring his money from banks and ATMs, PM Modi said: “For 70 years people queued up for essential items. This queue (outside banks) is the last queue to end all the queues.”
“The honest have queued up outside the banks, the corrupt are standing outside the houses of the poor after demonetisation.”
Targeting various political parties which have ruled in the past, PM Modi said: “Parties in power in the past had worked only for themselves and for their near ones, but not for the poor.”
“To eradicate poverty from the country, poverty has to be removed first from big states like UP, Bihar, Maharashtra and West Bengal.”
This was PM Modi’s fourth Parivartan rally in Uttar Pradesh. He had addressed similar rallies in Ghazipur, Agra, and Kushinagar ahead of assembly polls in February-March 2017.
