INC?s Bolem Muthyala Papa won this seat in the 2009 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections beating the TDP candidate by a margin of 8287 (5.47%) votes. Bolem Muthyala Papa polled 1,51,401 which was 43.24% of the total votes polled.
