New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's election rally in Delhi on Saturday seemed to have wooed voters as they left Ramlila Maidan in the national capital with all praise for him. At the rally venue and on the roads leading to the venue, thousands of people were heard shouting - Har har Modi, ghar ghar Modi, Ab ki baar, Modi sarkar, chalo chale Modi ke sath.
People from all walks of life attended the rally registering their support for the Bharatiya Janata Party in the belief that Delhi will witness a change.
Sunita Singh, a former Aam Aadmi Party supporter, said, "Delhi will witness a major change. AAP should be beware now as people have not forgotten their false promises."
Even school teachers attended the rally and wished to be part of many more such rallies. One of them was Sangeeta Tripathi who said Modi's actions have created an impact all over the world.
"PM Modi's speech will definitely impact voters. He is bringing the change. As far as AAP is concerned, once the trust is broken, it cannot be gained again. AAP had vested interests," she said.
Another Modi supporter Manoj Tyagi from South Ganesh Nagar said, "BJP will fulfil all its promises and will also do the work which remained undone as the city lost one year. Schemes launched by PM Modi will definitely bring the change."
Polls were necessitated in the national capital as the term of President's Rule was due to expire in February. The AAP formed the government with the outside of the Congress in December 2013 but served only for 49 days. As no party staked claim to form the government in Delhi, President's Rule was enforced.
