Instances of pedestrians or vehicles taking the wrong side of the road have often caused trouble for commuters. It has become a menace for people as violators continue to pay zero heed to fines and warnings. Wrong-side driving not only increases the risk of accidents but also makes it difficult for commuters to negotiate unruly traffic. One such instance recently surfaced on the internet, where a Bihar government official chose to take the wrong side, leading to a heated confrontation on the road.
A video capturing the entire incident has gone viral on the internet, sparking controversy. The video shows a car purportedly belonging to a government official driving against the traffic flow and then even intimidating another driver. The clip recorded on a dashcam in another vehicle shows the bureaucrat’s car taking the wrong side of the road while the other vehicle drives in the opposite direction.
As soon as the person driving on the correct side intervenes to correct the other one, the officer comes out and starts arguing. Later, the two can be seen getting into a heated argument. As the two cars come to a halt, the offender can be seen intimidating the other one, who refuses to budge before the traffic police are summoned. “Why are trying to act smart? I will lock you and your car too,” the official can be heard saying in Hindi, while the driver maintains his calm and questions his traffic violation.

During this time, the driver also informed the officer that he had a recording of the entire incident. After a heated argument, the official finally figures out a way and moves out of the way. While the video has already gained a lot of traction on the internet, with over 1 million views, it has also drawn the attention of social media users. People took to the comment section and lauded the driver for standing up against the wrongdoing.

Another civil servant. See the shamelessness. Going on the wrong side & blatantly threatening a citizen. This is in times of social media. Imagine what these corrupt babus did when there was no social media! https://t.co/kGf8yHWzpt— Viren (@virendersingh17) April 4, 2024

The guy who was recording cared to stop the Civil Servant’s car, but at the end he let a bike pass on wrong side without trying to stop it. It can be easily seen in the video. Double Standards. While I support the firing of civil servant, but that guy too was hypocritical.
