A shocking video that shows a couple purportedly having sex under a blanket in a busy park is causing much outrage. The video shows a couple fully covered by a dark grey blanket. After some time, the couple is seen removing the blanket and relaxing in the park.
The video was reportedly taken in Battery Park in New York City. It was first shared on TikTok in late April where it got over 40 million views. Soon, this clip began doing rounds on other social media platforms.
Now, many people are demanding action against the couple. Even though the video has gone viral and the couple can be clearly seen at the end of the video, it is unclear if they were apprehended by law enforcement.

In the USA, it is a punishable offence to have sex in a public place. Sexual acts in public such as masturbation, intercourse and indecent exposure come under “public lewdness”. According to an assessment of the video by Diario AS, it may be hard to charge and then prosecute the “blanket couple” with public lewdness because they were fully covered with a blanket. Therefore, there is no direct proof to show that they were having sexual intercourse in the park. Additionally, when the couple emerges from the blanket fully clothed, it further negates any claims about indecent exposure.
Back in September 2023, two passengers were caught having sex in the toilet of an easyJet flight that was bound from the UK to Ibiza. According to The Independent, the couple was escorted off the plane by the police once the plane landed in Ibiza. EasyJet confirmed the incident took place on one of their flights. As per reports, a spokesperson for the airline said, “We can confirm that this flight from Luton to Ibiza on 8 September was met by police on arrival due to the behaviour of two passengers onboard.” In the UK, there is a specific law that prohibits “intentionally engaging in sexual activities in a public lavatory” under section 71 of the Sexual Offences Act 2004
