The famous animated series, The Simpsons, has intrigued fans with its ability to predict real-world events. From Apple’s Vision Pro and the rise of smartwatches to Donald Trump becoming America’s president, the show’s predictions have always dominated headlines. Fans are now relating one of the show’s episodes as a prediction to the incident involving the sinking of the land of a farm in the village of Sahajarasar, Lunkaransar, Bikaner Rajasthan. The land of a farm in the village had sunk by about 80 to 100 feet. The people witnessed this shocking incident on the morning of April 16, 2024. An episode of The Simpsons showed something similar. It depicted how a drop of water falling and seeping into the ground. The video follows with the water droplet moving through the roots and then merging into a large reservoir of water. In a surprising turn of events, the water in the reservoir ends and the land above also sinks. The Simpson characters fall underneath the ground, while they are riding the car.
Social media users loved this video and many of them recounted that a similar incident had happened in Rajasthan. Another shocking aspect of the video is the discovery of the Zombie Virus Kit, which left several users horrified. The text overlay on the video reads, “The Simpsons predict the next events to happen soon in the world.”
Users are surprised to see how The Simpsons predict such real-world events. Al Jean, one of the oldest writers, credited their ability to luck and the volume of episodes produced. In an interview with NME portal, Jean reveals why he believes The Simpsons continues to accurately forecast future events.
He explained, “One of our writers, the guy whose episode predicted Donald Trump as president, said it best, ‘If you write 700 episodes and you don’t predict anything, then you’re pretty bad. If you throw enough darts, you’re going to get some bullseyes.’ The 9/11 one is so bizarre. In the World Trade Center episode, there was a brochure reading $9 a day with an 11 styled up like the towers. That was in ’96, which was crazy, like this insane coincidence. But mostly it’s just educated guesses.
In the past, The Simpsons writers accurately predicted things like ending of Game of Thrones, Disney buying 20th Century Fox, Autocorrect, Horsemeat scandal and Letter from The Beatles.
