‘Educated Idiots’: Video of Girl Throwing Balloons at Man’s Luggage on Holi Enrages Internet
Viral video shows a girl throwing water balloons on a man's luggage despite his pleas.

Kids usually throw water balloons at random people from their balconies during the Holi. But is it okay to do that without the consent of people? Recently, a video of a girl throwing water balloons at a man despite him requesting multiple times not to has divided the internet. Filmmaker Rohan Jain took to Instagram to share a clip of the incident which happened on Holi with him.

The clip opens with a girl throwing water balloons at the filmmaker and his luggage despite his pleas. As the video progresses, he can be seen indulging in an argument with the girl’s family who were supporting her. In the video Rohan can be seen saying that he asked the kids not to throw water balloons then they should stop doing doing it. But the man standing in the balcony replied to him, ‘You can keep your phone in your pocket.’ Later, the girl’s father can also be seen supporting her. Also, the girl can be seen interrupting the conversation between Rohan and her father disrespectfully and saying ‘Don’t roam around sit back at home.’

The filmmaker describes the whole incident in a long caption. Sharing the video, he wrote, “This girl almost hit my laptop with a water balloon while I was getting out of the cab at my relative’s place. And even after politely asking her not to do this , instead of saying sorry and stopping it right away , she starts throwing even more balloons and then her family is standing there watching and starts justifying it and arguing back. I was travelling to my relative’s place in Delhi, I had all my luggage , all my drones and camera gear with me alongside my laptop bag which has all my other devices too. And as soon as my drop location comes , I open the door taking out my laptop first , and balloons start hitting my door. I closed the door , kept my devices and bags inside the car , carefully stepped out , and saw where the balloons are coming from. I asked the girl very politely and her sibling to not throw balloons as I had to take out all my luggage from the cab, and she started yelling back at me and throwing even more balloons right in front of her family guardians.”

He further stated, “After she threw almost 15-20 balloons at me and did not want to stop with her family shamelessly watching and supporting, I took out my phone and started recording them and they didnt stop even then. And the actual father of the girl couldnt even come down and take responsibility of his daughter or even apologise for her behaviour. After a few minutes a few more neighbours came out on the street saying they are also annoyed with this family about hitting others and then misbehaving.

PLEASE DON’T BE LIKE THIS FAMILY OR RAISE YOUR CHILDREN LIKE THIS.”

Rohan Jain shared the clip just two days back. Since then, the post has amassed more than 25 million views. The video has left the internet users divided. However, some users supported the filmmaker and slammed the family while some offered him pieces of advice. “It’s not about Holi, it’s the matter of children and parenting, at least they could have stopped her saying don’t throw to unknown people. The girl seems very alone and nobody is playing with her not even her parents, so if the family plays Holi with her she will not disturb strangers,” added an Instagram user.

“That’s really wrong. Parents supporting kids when they are wrong is the ultimate wrong case. Playing Holi and enjoying the festival is fine but does not disturb others. Not many people have the privilege to play Holi on that day as many people will work on that day too. Children don’t understand but parents or elders should understand this. They should at least teach this much basic to children,” wrote a second.
