The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, and the Konkan region, warning of continued heavy rainfall and potential flooding. Vikhroli’s Veer Savarkar Marg Municipal School and MCMCR Powai recorded the highest rainfall, surpassing 315 mm in the past 24 hours.
In response to the worsening conditions, authorities took proactive measures. All government, private, and municipal schools and colleges were ordered to remain closed, ensuring the safety of students and staff amid the inclement weather.

Meanwhile, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) experienced disruptions in flight operations due to weather-related congestion and reduced visibility. Airlines cautioned passengers to check their flight statuses, anticipating delays and cancellations.
The Mumbai bus network, operated by BEST (Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport), also faced challenges with many routes diverted to avoid waterlogged areas.
