During the event, Alia delivered an acceptance speech expressing her gratitude for being in a nation that actively fosters unity through cinema. She acknowledged the rare occurrence of talents from the West and East converging to celebrate each other under one roof. “It’s a privilege to be here in this nation, the nation that is currently doing so much to unite us all and bring us all under one roof in the name of cinema. It doesn’t happen very often where countless talents from the West and East come together under one roof and celebrate each other. So thank you for making this happen,” She said.

Before this, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan had also received an Honorary Award at the second edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia. The festival organisers recognised him for his exceptional contribution to the film industry, at the festival’s opening ceremony on December 1, 2022, in Jeddah.
