WATCH | Israeli Army’s Elite Unit Kills 60 Terrorists, Arrests Hamas Commander, Rescues 250 Hostages
An elite unit of the Israel army rescued over 250 hostages from a Hamas outpost near the Gaza border and arrested a top Hamas commander and killed 60 terrorists.

The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) on Friday released video footage of an operation inside Gaza where they rescued dozens of hostages while neutralising near the Gazan border. The elite Shayetet’s Fleet Unit of the IDF stormed the Sufa outpost and killed 60 Hamas terrorists.

The IDF, in a series of posts on social media site X, said they killed 60 Hamas terrorists, arrested 26 others and managed to apprehend Muhammad Abu A’ali, the deputy commander of the Hamas southern naval division.

“The flotilla fighters moved from point to point in the settlements, and fought the terrorists under fire throughout the enclave with the aim of eliminating the terrorists and freeing the hostages. The forces operated in a large number of centres, the main ones being in Kibbutz Bari, Mitzvah Sofa, Kfar Gaza, Sa’ad, Mefalsim and Nir Oz,” the IDF said in a post describing the operation.

In the video, a dozen or so soldiers can be seen going inside several buildings before locating the correct one where hostages are being held. Soldiers are seen firing from behind cover and throwing grenades at the Hamas border outpost.

“During the battles, the fighters of the 13th Fleet eliminated over 60 terrorists associated with the terrorist organisation Hamas and rescued about 250 hostages alive. 26 terrorists were arrested, including the deputy commander of the southern naval brigade of Hamas, Muhammad Abu A’ali,” the IDF further added.

“Go on, light them up. Clear, clear,” a senior official of the elite unit is being heard saying to his colleagues in the video. At one point in the video, a soldier is seen pulling out a wounded terrorist, who may have been hurt during the operation, out of the bunker and holding him against the wall.

“Put a pistol to him. I got him,” another soldier said.

The soldiers then go inside the bunker and assure hostages that they are here to save and ask them if they need any ‘first aid’.

Towards the end of the video they are seen carrying a stretcher.

The operation was carried out in the Kibbutz Bari, Mitzvah Sofa, Kfar Gaza, Sa’ad, Mefalsim and Nir Oz areas, all of which lie close to the Gaza Strip.
