VIJAYAWADA: Much to the relief of students and parents, the mentors and the home room tutors of all three IIITs under Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies have decided to resume their duties from Wednesday.
The state government has agreed to resolve most of their demands including reappointment of HRTs who were removed from the posts, a few days ago. During the talks held between deputy chief minister C Damodara Rajanarasimha and representatives of mentors and the HRTs at Hyderabad on Tuesday, the government has agreed to about 80 per cent demands made by the IIIT staff. The mentors representative K Haribabu said the deputy chief minister has agreed to look into most of their demands, including reappointment of HRTs, salary hike and separate accommodation for mentors and HRTs who have been staying in student hostels.
