BANGALORE: The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Cell at the Indian Institute of Management in Bangalore (IIM-B) will be organising the fourth edition of Eximius 2011, IIM Bangalore’s flagship entrepreneurship summit, from August 13 to 14. The theme of this year’s event is titled ‘Unconventional Entrepreneurship’ that will focus on breakthrough startups. Over 150 colleges across the country is expected to participate in this event, which aims to bring young minds together to ideate, innovate and inspire. The summit will also be hosting competitions, lectures, workshops and panel discussions to engage young entrepreneurs. This year, Eximius will also feature some unconventional start-ups and will be celebrating their success through a panel discussion. The participants for the panel discussion will include EduSports- school sports company, Entertainment Engineers- a stand-up comedy firm by IIT alumnus , Business blogging- a social media consultancy and YourStory.in - a successful online networking platform for entrepreneurs, to name a few. Eximius will also focus on social entrepreneurship through Reach, the social entrepreneurship case study competition. The competition will invite ideas to market and scale the venture of two women in rural Karnataka, who manufacture and sell smokeless chulhas, with the help of the NGO, Better Future.Also at the event Bangalore and Springboard Ventures will be providing participants with an incubation opportunity and i2India ventures will be scouting for the next big technological breakthrough.
