Monsoon remained active as light to moderate rains on Monday lashed western and central parts of Uttar Pradesh, where most of the major rivers continued to remain in spate.
Lalitpur received the maximum 10 cms of rainfall, followed by Mahroni 9, Mauranipur 4, Najibabad and Mahoba 2 each, and Banda, Jhansi and Rampur 1 cm each, the MeT department said.
Heavy rain and thundershowers occurred at isolated places over the western parts.
The region will receive more rains in the days to come, according to a MeT forecast.
Meanwhile, the Central Water Commission report said Ganga continued to flow close to the danger mark between Fatehgarh and Dalmau (Rae Bareli), and was flowing above the red mark at Ballia.
While Ram Ganga was flowing near the red mark at Dabri (Shahjahanpur), Sharda river continued to flow above the danger mark at Palia Kalan.
Yamuna was also close to the red mark at Prayag Ghat (Mathura), and Ghaghra remained above the red mark at Elgin Bridge in Barabanki, Ayodhya and Turtipar in Ballia.
Similarly, Rapti was close to the red mark at Balrampur, Bansi, Regauli and Birdghat, whereas Burhi Rapti was near the red mark at Kakrahi in Siddhartnagar.
