HYDERABAD: The Telangana Congress steering committee has decided to cancel its proposed one-day fast in the city on Thursday following the Centre’s decision to delete clause 14(f) from the Presidential Orders.The steering committee leaders held a meeting here on Wednesday. The committee would again meet on August 14 to decide the future course of action. Talking to newsmen later, Nalgonda MP and committee spokesperson Gutha Sukhender Reddy thanked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for recommending deletion of the clause.The meeting has decided to maintain status quo for now with regard to the stance of Telangana Congress MPs, ministers and MLAs who have been staying away from official duties. Referring to the general strike notice given by the Telangana employees, Gutha said there is no link between Clause 14(f) and the strike since the latter was meant for T cause. MPs Ponnam Prabhakar, K Rajagopal Reddy attended the meeting chaired by Rajya Sabha member K Keshava Rao.
