Dehradun: Uttarakhand Divas will be celebrated on November 25 at the India International Trade Fair which commences in New Delhi on November 14.
Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna will attend the celebrations, official sources said on Friday. At a meeting held in Dehradun in this regard, Chief Secretary Subhash Kumar asked officials to ensure that the celebrations send out the message that life was fast getting back on track in Uttarakhand after the June calamity.
He also issued instructions that entrepreneurs representing the state's flood-hit districts at the fair should not be charged any fees and also that the state government should meet the expenses to be incurred over their journey to Delhi and back. The trade fair is a good opportunity to revive the confidence of visitors in Uttarakhand tourism, he said.
Most of the popular tourist destinations in Uttarakhand were not affected by the calamity but it generated fear among tourists which can be dispelled through the trade fair, he said. Art and handicraft stalls selling products that are manufactured only in Uttarakhand will be set up at the fair, Small Industry Secretary Ajay Pradyot who attended the meeting said.
