WB: Opposition members stage walkout from Assembly

Opposition Left Front members on Tuesday staged a brief walkout from the Assembly after Speaker Biman Banerjee refused to admit an adjournment motion moved by Leader of the Opposition Surya Kant Mishra.

Rising from his seat at the end of question hour, Mishra read out the motion urging the Speaker not to go ahead with the normal business transaction of the day and insisted on a debate on the price rise of essential items which was hurting the common man.

No sooner than Mishra's microphone was turned off, the other Left Front members quit the house shouting slogans. They returned to the house after a short time.
