London: The world’s oldest bottle of whisky is being sold at an auction by a family in Co Armagh, Northern Ireland, and is expected to rake in at least £ 10,000.
The family says it has been in their possession for generations, nearly 150 years.
The label on the bottle reads: Glenavon *** Special Liqueur Whisky Bottled by the Distillers. Glenavon closed in the 1850s.
According to The Times, it is expected to fetch up to £ 10,000 or £ 300 a shot — at Bonhams Sale of Fine Wine, Port and Spirits in London next month.
