Baahubali actor Sathyaraj is ready to play the role of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, if the offer comes his way. The Tamil actor, who recently dismissed rumours that he was offered to play PM Modi’s role in his biopic, admitted he was open to the role. Speaking at a press conference, he expressed his interest to play the role. However, he sarcastically added that directors like Vetrimaaran, Pa Ranjith, or Mari Selvaraj should direct it.
“Nobody has approached me [to play the role of Modi]. Even if they do … I may have acted in it if it were directed by my friend late director Manivannan who used to show characters ‘as they were,’” he said, as reported by The News Minute. He then joked, “It would be great if Vetri Maaran or Pa Rajith or Mari Selvaraj directs the biopic.”

Speaking to Minnambalam last week, Sathyaraj had clarified that he was not offered the biopic. “The news that I am acting in the Prime Minister Modi biopic is news even to me. Nobody has approached me to play PM Modi in the film. People spread random news on social media,” he said.
“Back in the day, newspapers used to come up with stories like ‘Young woman murdered…Is it because of an illicit affair?’ Likewise, social media has become a place for such mindless rumours,” he added.
Meanwhile, Sathyaraj was last seen in Weapon, a Tamil movie in which he plays the role of a superhuman. The film released on May 23. He has also confirmed he will be seen in Rajinikanth headlined film, Coolie. The actors will reunite for a film after a long gap.
