SRK Says Aamir Shouldn't Have Done Laal Singh Chaddha; Reveals Why He REJECTED Pushpa: 'It Hurts...'
Shah Rukh Khan humorously reflects on his career choices, joking about Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha and expressing regret over missing Pushpa.

Shah Rukh Khan, known for his sharp wit and charisma, recently showcased his exceptional hosting skills at the 24th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards in Abu Dhabi. Co-hosting with Vicky Kaushal, SRK not only entertained the audience but also bagged the Best Actor award for his blockbuster movie Jawan.

During the event, the duo engaged in a playful banter that had everyone in stitches. Shah Rukh humorously claimed that major film projects usually come to him first before being offered to other stars. Vicky took the opportunity to quiz him about various films, including the ambitious 2022 release Laal Singh Chaddha, starring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan.

When Vicky asked if that movie had come to him before Aamir, Shah Rukh quipped, “Even Aamir Khan shouldn’t have done that movie,” leaving the audience in splits. “I love you, Aamir!” he added, making it clear that his remark was made in jest.

Laal Singh Chaddha, which was adapted from the classic Forrest Gump, faced significant backlash and was a box office disappointment, grossing only Rs 130 crore against its reported Rs 180 crore budget. Aamir’s performance received mixed reviews, leading the actor to take a hiatus from acting.

The conversation then shifted to another film, Pushpa: The Rise, directed by Sukumar. Vicky asked Shah Rukh if he had passed on the opportunity to be a part of this blockbuster, to which Shah Rukh replied, “Oh my god, yaar! You’ve touched on something that still hurts. I really wanted to do Pushpa, but I couldn’t match Allu Arjun sir’s swag.” This comment drew cheers and applause.

Allu Arjun’s portrayal in Pushpa earned him a National Film Award for Best Actor, and anticipation is high for its sequel, Pushpa 2: The Rule, which is set to hit theaters on December 6. Alongside Arjun, the film will also feature talents like Fahadh Faasil and Rashmika Mandanna in pivotal roles, promising another thrilling installment in the franchise.
