While Renuka Singh managed to recover some skin with her three-wicket haul in four overs while giving away just 27 runs. In the second half, Shafali Verma tried to recover the game with her 52-run knock but it just wasn’t enough. India finished their batting inning with a total of 159 runs.

The English women were dominant in the first T20I, recording a 38-run victory. The duo of Danni Wyatt and Nat Sciver-Brunt scored more than 70 runs each to set a mammoth total of 197 runs in the first innings. England continued their rampage in the second half as Sophie Ecclestone scalped three players in her four-over spell while giving away just 15 runs.
