The saffron party’s national vice president and spokesperson Baijayant “Jay” Panda is nominated to be the in-charge of the state of Uttar Pradesh.
Meanwhile, former Union Minister Prakash Javadekar has been named as the in-charge for the southern state of Kerala.
State-wise List:
Two days ago, the saffron party launched its campaign theme song and video — Tabhi toh sab Modi ko chunte hain — sounding the poll bugle for the elections that will be held in April-May.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the other hand, invited the young voters to contribute to the BJP’s manifesto for the upcoming general elections and asked them to share their thoughts on the NaMo app.
“I look forward to meeting some of the contributors myself in the future,” he said in his post on X.
PM Modi’s post about his party’s manifesto came on the occasion of National Voters’ Day, for which he urged people to register themselves as voters, if they haven’t done so yet.
The in-charges announcement also comes amid the political upheaval in Bihar over speculation of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar breaking the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) and reuniting with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), where all the parties in the state are corralling their lawmakers for meetings over the weekend.
Meanwhile, INDIA bloc’s member leader Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK supremo MK Stalin took a swipe at BJP and said that the opposition bloc’s unity will dislodge the saffron party from its power at the Centre.
CPI(M)’s Sitaram Yechury, on the other hand, said that the INDIA bloc should gear up for the “big political battle” against the forces dominating the “secular democratic republic”.
The prime minister — addressing the young voters on Thursday — took a dig at the opposition parties and said that the youth is against corruption and ‘parivarwaad’ (nepotism), adding that family-run parties never allow other youngsters to move ahead.
